Navigating Change: Sustainable Growth Strategies for Swiss SMEs and Purpose-Driven Organizations
In today’s rapidly evolving market, purpose-driven businesses must balance profitability and sustainability. I help Changemakers and Swiss SMEs evolve traditional business models into scalable, sustainable growth strategies. Whether aiming for a circular economy or greater social impact, I deliver actionable, resource-efficient solutions that maximize resilience and ensure long-term success, even in fluctuating markets.
STRATEGY FRAMEWORK
Define the Vision and Purpose
Like setting the course of a ship, your purpose is the North Star guiding every decision you make. Defining a clear, purpose-driven vision ensures that your organization moves in the right direction, aligning business objectives with a broader social impact and sustainable growth. This balance between purpose, strategy and business goals drives resilient growth in a fast-changing market.
Instruments/Frameworks:
Golden Circle+: Identifies "Who," "Why," "How," and "What" to align with societal goals.Core Story Workshop: Co-creates a shared vision that acts as your navigational chart for both internal alignment and external impact. Purpose Framework: Aligns your strategy with regulatory and societal impact expectations.
Assess the Current State
Before embarking on your growth journey, it's critical to assess your internal strengths and the external environment. I help Swiss SMEs and Changemakers evaluate their resources, market positioning, and readiness for sustainable growth. By understanding your capabilities and the broader market conditions, we can anticipate challenges and optimize your business for long-term success.
Instruments/Frameworks:
SWOT Analysis: Assesses internal strengths and external opportunities.
PESTLE Analysis: Evaluates political, economic, social, technological, legal, and environmental conditions. Resource Audit: Identifies where your "provisions" (resources) can be optimized for a long journey toward circularity or impact.
Set Strategic Priorities and Objectives
Once your course is set, it’s time to plot key waypoints. I help purpose-driven organizations and SMEs define strategic priorities that ensure each decision drives measurable impact and long-term growth, even with limited resources or shifting regulations.
Instruments/Frameworks:
SMART Goals: Creates measurable and achievable objectives. OKRs: Ensures clear alignment between objectives and key results. Balanced Scorecard: Tracks performance across financial, operational, and sustainability metrics.
Develop Actionable Strategies
Once your course is plotted, it’s time to hoist the sails and execute your plan. Developing actionable strategies is like organizing the ship’s crew—each role is clearly defined, and every action contributes to the overall mission. Whether it’s refining supply chains or implementing circular economy processes, every move pushes your organization toward sustainable growth and long-term resilience.
Instruments/Frameworks:
Business Model Canvas: Maps out key resources and value streams for circular or impact-driven growth. Blue Ocean Strategy: Explores new, uncontested market spaces for growth. Lean Strategy: Ensures maximum efficiency and minimal waste on the journey.
Embed Purpose in Culture
To ensure a successful journey, your team must be fully aligned with your mission. Embedding purpose into your company’s culture guarantees that everyone understands the bigger picture and works together toward sustainable growth. This alignment fosters resilience and helps your organization weather market fluctuations and regulatory changes.
Instruments/Frameworks:
Culture Mapping: Visualizes how purpose aligns with daily operations.
Leadership Alignment: Ensures captains (leaders) model the purpose-driven behaviors that guide the ship. Storytelling Framework: Reinforces purpose through narratives, ensuring that your crew and stakeholders stay motivated and united.
Track Progress and Adapt
As you sail toward your destination, regularly checking the horizon and adapting to changes is essential. By tracking sustainability metrics and staying agile, you can adjust your sails as needed, keeping momentum and staying on course, even when circumstances shift.
Instruments/Frameworks:
KPIs: Tracks key performance indicators related to sustainability and impact. Agile Methodology: Allows for flexibility and quick adjustments in strategy. Scenario Planning: Prepares you for potential future challenges, ensuring you’re always ready for what’s on the horizon.

Whether pursuing a circular economy, driving social impact, or scaling for sustainable growth, each use case shows how targeted strategies equip ventures to launch with focus, direction, and the right tools to achieve their goals.
CLIENT
Basler Kantonalbank (BKB) is a Swiss regional bank, founded in 1899 and based in Basel. It provides banking services such as mortgages, investment advisory, and digital banking for both private and business customers. BKB is known for its strong local presence and focus on sustainability
CHALLENGE
As every bank, Basler Kantonalbank (BKB) regularly faces the challenge of adapting its strategy in response to shifting markets and regulations. The hardest part is ensuring that thousands of employees fully understand why the course is changing and where the new direction leads.
SOLUTION
I worked with Basler Kantonalbank (BKB) to develop a Core Story that aligned leadership, stakeholders, and employees on the new strategy. Through targeted workshops, departments shared insights on implementation, ensuring all employees understood the direction and their role, while strengthening ownership of the strategy.
CLIENT
Impact Hub Bern is a coworking and innovation space that supports entrepreneurs and organizations focused on social and environmental change. Offering workspaces, consulting, and programs in areas like the circular economy and sustainable development, it fosters collaboration and impact-driven solutions.
CHALLENGE
The company’s organic growth led to an increasingly diverse range of products and value streams, causing its focus to become diffuse. Customers struggled to identify the core value, resulting in brand confusion. This lack of clarity also hindered sustained revenue growth.
SOLUTION
In a Core Story and Purpose Workshop, we refined the company’s essence and aligned it with the new strategic direction. From this, I crafted a clear communication architecture to highlight the value propositions for customers. This sharpened focus enhanced brand perception and helped the strategy launch successfully, leading to financial growth.
CLIENT
ROCK YOUR LIFE! Schweiz, founded in 2013, connects disadvantaged youth with mentors to support their transition into vocational training. By fostering self-confidence and social skills, the organization helps young people unlock their potential and successfully navigate their future career paths.
CHALLENGE
The growth of ROCK YOUR LIFE! Schweiz resulted in a variety of unclear value streams and target audiences. Additionally, a rapidly changing demographic landscape and global challenges, such as the rise in migration flows, increasingly complicated the organization's operations, making it harder to effectively align its services with evolving needs.
SOLUTION
The new strategy was anchored in a Core Story Workshop and a revised communication architecture to refocus value propositions. Through a Stakeholder Mapping Workshop, key value streams were identified, and resources were reallocated, ensuring better alignment with target audiences and successful adaptation to shifting challenges.
